An Ionic Garden Folly

An exercise in classical proportion and rendering techniques, this small project was based on a written description of a building resembling the Tower of the Winds in Athens, requiring students to translate a design from words into pictures. The assignment allowed for an exploration of architectural shade and shadow in the form of a monotone rendering. The scale of the project also permitted close study of the canonical ratios and details of the Ionic Order.
