A Doric Aedicule

Below is an analytique of a classical aedicule.  The project called for the design of a monumental porch that would be added to the south façade of Laughlin Memorial Hall in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood to frame a replica of the seated Abraham Lincoln statue by Daniel Chester French.  The assignment afforded a valuable opportunity to study the Doric Order in detail while envisaging a sensitive addition to a historic building.
